Basic Drilldown Reporting Functions
Use
The reports for investment programs in the area menus of the Investment Management (IM) component are based on drilldown functions in the R/3 System. The only exception is the General Value List. This enables you to analyze all program positions of an investment program, along with their assigned investment measures, in reports in which the level of detail increases step-by-step.
Along with analysis of the investment program structure, you can also obtain additional detail using profit center and cost center hierarchies. For example, you can enter a profit center hierarchy or cost center hierarchy when you execute the standard drilldown report on budget availability (refer to
Availability and User-Defined Drilldown Reports).Features
The list display for these drilldown reports contains functions (especially navigation functions) which allow you to easily analyze the information displayed. The most important of these functions, from the point of view of Investment Management, are explained below.
Drilldown List vs. Detail List
The standard drilldown reports in the IM component initially display a drilldown list. This drilldown list displays all the values of a characteristic (for example, all the positions for an investment program). From this drilldown list, you can display more detailed information on the values for the characteristic (focus on the characteristic values of a characteristic). Place the cursor on the rhombus at the beginning of the line. You can them use the navigation function with the magnifying glass icon.

Drilldown List and Detail List
In some drilldown reports, you can double-click on a line in the display for a program position and jump directly to the measures that are assigned to it. This only applies in lists in which the Measure characteristic is displayed in the first position in the navigation block. The system then shows the same values for the measures belonging to the program position.
Additional Functions
For more information on jumps from the display of the drilldown report, see Report Interfaces and Navigation .
Saving Data
Under Report
® Save data you can save the results of a drilldown report. For each report you can save the last list that was displayed. When this report is called up again with the same selection specifications, the system then displays the saved data. You can use the function New selection to end access of the saved data and to start a new report.Under Report ® Save definition you can save report parameters which have been changed interactively. All the parameters set then become active when you call up the report again.
Exceptions
R/3 drilldown functions allow you to define exceptions for each report (choose Extras in the definition of drilldown reports, also refer to
User-Defined Drilldown Reports). The system then highlights those values in the report that fulfill the conditions. The following standard exceptions are defined in the system for availability check:
