Picking with HU

Choose Logistics ® Production ® Production Control ® Goods Movements ® Material Staging ® Picking with HU or Logistics ® Central Functions ® Handling Unit Management ® Processing Handling Units ® Work Order – Components.

Enter the order number and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Choose the Open reservations tab page.

Select one or more items and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Copy.

The system goes to the Materials tab page. The copied reservations appear as material items.

You can change the material items (quantity, quantity unit, storage location) before you create the HU

Enter the packaging material.

Reassigning

On the Assign HU tab page, you can assign the order HUs for the same material (choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Assign), if such an assignment is not prohibited in Customizing. Here you have the following options:

You reassign an HU that is already assigned to another order. A goods issue has already been posted for the other order. However the material was not used completely.
You assign a free HU. A free HU is an existing HU for the same material that has not yet been assigned to an order.

For reassigned HUs or assigned free HUs you can specify whether partial goods issues are allowed (choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text ) or not (choose ).

You can determine for each plant and order type how the system should react to the assignment (Assignment allowed, Assignment of HU allowed with warning, Assignment of HU not allowed -> Error message). You do this in Customizing under Logistics General ® Handling Unit Management ® Basics ® Production ®Production Supply ® Set partial GI Indicator.
