General

You make the necessary modifications to the interface, field descriptions, message texts, data elements, and IMG activities described under Dangerous Goods Structure Reform in your system when you import Support Package 01 for EH&S Release 2.7B.

During the transition period you are free to carry out dangerous goods management processes according to either the old or new regulations. This means you can process dangerous goods master records that comply with the old or new regulations at the same time. By means of the entry in the LDBC field (old: letter, new: classification code), the system recognizes whether a data record was specified according to the old or new-style regulations. The regulation version is determined using the following logic:

The data record is based on the old regulation if the following applies in the LDBC field:

The data record is based on the new regulation if the following applies in the LDBC field:

Note

With the dangerous goods UN 0190, SAMPLES, EXPLOSIVE, other than initiating explosive and UN 1043 Fertilizer Ammoniating SOLUTION with free ammonia no classification codes are specified in Table A of the restructured ADR. In these two cases, manual processing may be necessary because the system would assign these data records to the old version of the regulations on the basis of the above-mentioned logic.

Effects on Documents

For delivery note printing, text patterns are also supplied in which the dangerous goods letter and the hazard item number have been removed.

Note

Call the report program DGCTPATT to generate the correct formatting of the text patterns.

The corresponding adjustments are carried out for the layout in tremcard processing and for Structure linksection 14 of the safety data sheet.

Filling

For data records that the system assigns to the restructured version of the regulations, the contents of the hazard item number and hazard item number empty transport fields are deleted during filling of the dangerous goods master. The fields are then removed from the interface. However, they still remain in the tables so that they can react to any future changes to the regulations if and where necessary.

Conversion Scenario

Individual materials can be converted on a certain key date by changing the dangerous goods classification and the UN listed substances. This usually requires the creation of new dangerous goods classifications and UN listed substances. One key date change is sufficient if the conversion applies to all specifications and materials that are assigned to the dangerous goods classification to be converted.
