In the period to be closed, you need 1 000 kg of the material Chocolate for your cost centers. You require 600 kg Chocolate for the cost center Canteen and 400 kg Chocolate for the cost center Restaurant. The expenses will be posted to the account 800 000 in Financial Accounting. The material price determination has calculated a price difference of 10 EUR per kg.

Revaluating CO Account Assignments

If you have assigned the indicator revaluation of G/L account and CO account assignment to the relevant movement types in the movement type group (in Customizing under Actual Costing/ Material Ledger), then these goods issues will be updated in the material ledger using the following the alternatives:

When revaluating consumption, revaluation amounts will be determined for each consumption alternative, in other words 6 000 EUR for consumption alternative 1 and 4 000 EUR for consumption alternative 2. This also means that the account 800 000 will be subsequently debited with 10 000 EUR (canteen with 6 000 EUR and the restaurant with 4 000 EUR)

No Revaluation of CO Account Assignment

If you have assigned the indicator revaluation of G/L account to the relevant movement types in the movement type group, in Customizing under Actual Costing/ Material Ledger, then these goods issues will be updated in the material ledger under one single alternative:

When revaluating consumption the revaluation amount will only be determined for this consumption alternative. This then means that the account 800 000 will be subsequently debited with 10 000 EUR.

Note

Even if you have chosen the option revaluation of CO account assignment, you can still decide whether you actually want to revaluate the CO account assignment, when maintaining closing entry variants.

You can also determine the revaluation amounts per CO account assignment for purely reporting reasons, without actually posting them.
