Maintaining an Ad-Hoc Anchor
Use
You can save more than one additional workflow with the same interface as the ad-hoc anchor.
At runtime, an authorized user can replace the ad-hoc anchor with one of the saved workflows in the graphical workflow log. The workflow being executed is then enhanced by the steps of the added workflow. If the anchor is not replaced, the ad-hoc anchor is ignored when the workflow is executed.
In the workflow definition, an ad-hoc anchor is represented with the symbol
.
Features
An ad-hoc anchor always has one outcome.
The saved workflows must have a workflow container that is identical to the workflow container of your workflow.
If a saved workflow replaces the ad-hoc anchor, the workflow container of the workflow added is replaced by the workflow container of your workflow. This enables you to process the new steps in your workflow without having to define a binding.
An ad-hoc anchor is not taken into account in the workflow execution. If it is not replaced, the workflow continues as if the step does not exist.
Activities
Enter a step and an outcome name, and specify the workflows that can potentially replace the ad-hoc anchor.
