Use

You create tasks so that you can assign them to other organizational objects.

Prerequisites

You can display data on the task you have selected in the detail area.

Procedure

The procedure for creating a task varies according to the organizational object you want to assign the task to.

Creating Tasks (Job/Position)

  1. In the selection area, double-click on the job/position that you want to assign the new task to.
  2. The job/position is displayed in the overview area and the characteristics of the job/position are displayed in the detail area.

  3. Select a job/position from the overview area.
  4. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text:

The Select Relationship dialog box appears.

  1. Select the object type Task and confirm your entry by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  1. In the dialog box which appears, enter the period for which the task is to be valid in the Valid from field.
  2. Confirm your entry by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  3. The task is created and assigned to the relevant job/position.

  4. In the detail area, you can enter a short name for the task in the Object abbreviation field. You can enter a long name in the Name field.
  5. Save your entries by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Creating Tasks (Organizational Unit)

  1. In the selection area, double-click on the organizational unit that you want to assign the new task to.

The organizational structure for the organizational unit concerned appears.

  1. In the overview area, select the organizational unit to which you want to assign the new task.
  2. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and then Task assignment.

The tasks assigned to the organizational unit are displayed.

The Select Relationship dialog box appears.

  1. Select the object type Task and confirm your entry by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  1. In the dialog box which appears, enter the period for which the task is to be valid in the Valid from field.

  3. The task is created and assigned to the relevant position.

Creating Tasks (Person/User)

  1. In the selection area, double-click on the person (employee) or user to which you want to assign the new task.

The Organizational assignment appears in the overview area.

  1. Select the a person (employee) or user from the overview area.
  2. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and then Task assignment.

The Task assignments appear.

  1. Select the a person (employee) or user and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Select Relationship dialog box appears.

  1. Select the object type Task and confirm your entry by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  2. In the dialog box which appears, enter the period for which the task is to be valid in the Valid from field.
  3. Confirm your entries by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
