Copying Budget and Posting Addresses

Use

You use this copy function in order to:

copy master data in a budget structure (BS) from an FM area/fiscal year to the following year

use BS master data defined for one budget category for other budget categories
use master data in a budget structure to define another budget structure
create budget addresses that are derived from the posting addresses saved beforehand

Features

Copying budget and posting addresses

You can use a general program to copy the respective BS master data. From here, you choose which budget structure elements (option Budget addresses or Option Posting addresses) should be copied for a program run.

Creating derived budget addresses

You can also choose the option Derived budget addresses as well as copying budget/posting addresses. With this setting, budget addresses are created based on the valid derivation strategy. These derived budget addresses are based on the posting addresses created beforehand, or the Index Entries generated when you created the posting address.

Note

Note that copying posting addresses only has one FM area and fiscal year. The entry field Budget Structure is hidden accordingly when you choose options Posting addresses or Derived budget addresses.

Activities

You execute the copy program in the menu of Funds Management, under Master Data ® Tools ® Budget Structure (Budget Control System) ® Copy Budget and Posting Addresses.
