Preparations for Installing the Standalone Enqueue Server
Prerequisites
You have SAP Web Application Server with at least version 6.30, or you are one of the pilot customers with SAP release 4.6D or 6.10/6.20.
Procedure
You can find the following files on the sapservX under
/general/misc/unsupported/enserver:
README.txt: a short note on the installation procedure.
eq630_*.txt: this documentation in PDF format.
TechEd.ppt: a presentation on the standalone enqueue server. This was presented at the TechEd2001 in Vienna and explains the motivation for and the technical background of the standalone enqueue server.
enserver.<version>.<OS>.SAR, where <version> specifies the version and <OS> specifies the operating system.
Transfer the required data to your system.
Unpack the file
enserver.<version>.<OS>.SAR as follows:
SAPCAR –xf
enserver.<version>.<OS>.SAR
The following files are then in your directory:
enserver: the standalone enqueue server
enrepserver: the replication enqueue server
enqt.630: a test program used to test and analyze the standalone enqueue server (version 6.30).
enqt.46D: the same test program for version 4.6D. This is used to test the connection to the enqueue server using a 4.6D client without an application server.
profiles.SAR:a file with sample profiles that is used to start the standalone enqueue server. It contains the following:
enserver.pf: a sample profile that is used to start the standalone enqueue server.
enrepserver.pf: a sample profile that is used to start the replication enqueue server.
enqt.pf: a sample profile used to start the test clients in such a way that they connect to the enqueue server just like normal clients.
Result
You now have all the files required to install and start the standalone enqueue server. See
Installing the Standalone Enqueue Server for instructions on what to do next.
