The Object Navigator has the following areas of navigation:
Browser Selection
You can choose one of the following browsers in SE80:
MIME Repository |
Displays all directories with MIME objects that were imported into the current system The Public folder is always output. A selection of BSP applications is also given. |
Repository Browser |
This browser is initially used when you start SE80. It outputs Repository objects in the form of object lists. The objects are selected by category (packages, programs, classes, local objects, etc.) |
Repository Information System |
Displays all the objects of the information system without pre-selection. |
Tag Library |
Displays tags for Web applications. You can limit the list to the relevant tag in ITS-based applications or in BSP applications by pre-selection. |
Transport Organizer |
Outputs Transport Organizer requests in the current system. |
Restricting Browser Selection
The keys for all 6 browsers are displayed by default in the navigation area of SE80. However, you might want to restrict the navigation area to certain browsers since the others are not used frequently.
To restrict the selection:
The new filter settings take effect immediately.
Special Features of the Menu Bar, Standard Toolbar and Application Toolbar
Note that the functions of the menu bar, standard toolbar and application toolbar (with the exception of End) refer to the tool work area. In particular, the Back function in the standard toolbar only applies to the tool work area.
Special Features of the Repository Browser
Synchronizing the Object List
When you navigate to a new object (possibly to different tool as well), you can synchronize the object list.
All of the tools integrated in the tool area of the Object Navigator contain a function that updates the object list.
To do this choose Display object list using the icon in the application toolbar.
Suppose you are editing a program in the ABAP Editor and double-click the name of a global class. The system displays the class definition in the Class Builder. If you then update the object list, the object list for the global class (with all of its components) appears.
