You use this function to update the material master records automatically. This is particularly useful, if you have a large number of records to update.

In case there are several routings for a material, the system has to determine which routing is to be scheduled. To do so, it uses the priority rules that you have specified in Customizing by choosing Production ® Capacity requirements planning ® Operations ® Scheduling ® Define scheduling parameters for production orders.

You can use report program RCPMAU01 to update automatically in the background.

There are various criteria for selecting the materials whose master records you want to update.
