Use

When you post the stocks for an inspection lot, you can also post a batch to a new material. This may be necessary if the characteristics of a batch have changed to such an extent that they no longer satisfy the quality requirements for the current material.

Procedure

  1. Call up an inspection lot using the function to record or change a usage decision for an inspection lot.
  2. Choose Goto ® New material in the screen for inspection lot.

A dialog box appears in which you can enter the new material and batch number.
  1. Enter an identifier for the new material and a batch number. If necessary, use the possible entries help to select the new material.

Note

If a stock posting has already been made for this inspection lot, the system proposes a batch number. You can accept or change this number.
  1. Choose Continue.

If the new batch number does not exist, the system prompts you to create the new batch.
  1. Choose Yes.

A second dialog box is displayed requesting whether the new batch should be released.

Note

This dialog box is only displayed if the batch status management function is active for your plant.
  1. Choose Yes or No.

A message is displayed indicating that the new batch has been created.
