Definition

Specifies the rules for the chronological sequence of planned stability tests. It contains general scheduling information and can therefore be assigned to as many inspection plans for storage conditions and testing schedules as necessary. A strategy contains Structure linkpackages which specify the frequency in which the individual tests can be performed (for example, after 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 months, and so on).

Use

You use strategies to conduct stability studies. You can define one or more strategies, depending on the different testing frequencies that are used in your company for stability studies. A strategy contains a superset of possible testing frequencies that can be used in a stability study.

You need a strategy:

In such an inspection plan, you assign a strategy to the inspection plan header. At the operation level, you assign the desired packages in the strategy to the inspection operation (that is, you specify the frequencies in which this operation will be tested). It is therefore possible to define different, operation-specific frequencies for the same storage condition.

In this procedure, you simply specify which strategy you want to use for the stability study and assign the strategy’s scheduling parameters to the testing schedule. When you subsequently assign the inspection plans to the storage conditions in the testing schedule, you can only assign inspection plans that use the same strategy.

Structure

A strategy consists of the following elements:

In a strategy for stability studies, only the following parameters are important:

This indicator must always be set for a time-based strategy

If you select a call horizon of 100%, you will ensure that the start date for a test will correspond to the planned date for the test and not any time before this date. This value does not specify how much time before the actual start date an inspection lot may be created.

Integration

The strategy is the same SAP object as the Structure linkmaintenance strategy, which is used for maintenance planning in the area of plant maintenance. For more detailed information about the individual elements of a strategy, refer to the documentation for the maintenance strategy.
