You have the option of specifying the group and group counter yourself using the customer exit EHQM1101 Determine group and group counter when you create new inspection plans. For more detailed information on implementation, see the documentation for the customer exit.

If you do not use the customer exit, the group and group counter are determined as follows by the system:

The system determines whether a group already exists for the material and plant for which the inspection plan was created.

• If one exists, the inspection plan is added to this group.
• If not, the system attempts to determine the group using an old plan number. If the system cannot determine a group in this way, it specifies a new group and a new group counter for this inspection plan.

Call the customer exit EHQM1101 Determine group and group counter and implement the enhancement according to your requirements.
