SAPDBA checks several requirements that must be fulfilled in order to safely operate the ORACLE database (for interactive work with SAPDBA).

Y (es) causes SAPDBA to check the following:If one or more of the above conditions are not met, SAPDBA displays a warning when starting up. The initial menu then appears. If SAPDBA is already running, some of these checks are performed when ORACLE reads the file
init<DBSID>.ora (e.g. on starting the database).Setting
N (o) deactivates all these checks. It is possible to deactivate only some of the checks and keep others active by using the parameter check_controlfile_mirror and/or check_redolog_mirror (see check_controlfile_mirror and/or check_redolog_mirror).
