You use this function to schedule a material and to save the results in the temporary file automatically. You can use these scheduling results, for instance, to update the material master record manually.

In case there are several routings for a material, the system has to determine which routing is to be scheduled. To do so, it uses the priority rules that you have specified in Customizing by choosing Production ® Capacity requirements planning ® Operations ® Scheduling ® Define scheduling parameters for production orders.

You can use report program RCPMAU01 to copy data automatically to the temporary file in the background.

There are various criteria for selecting the materials whose master records you want to update.
