Definition

Grouping of different infotypes to be able to process limits. A wage type class contains one or several wage types that the system processes as a group, with regards to the limits on deductions.

Use

You can group all wage types that have certain similar characteristics in one wage type class and in this way they are considered together during the processing of limits on deductions.

Example

For example, you can include the following deductions in one wage type class:

A wage type can be contained in several wage type classes, if the assignment is useful.

Caution

You should only include payments or deductions within a wage type class, not both. Wage type classes should not contain payment and deduction wage types. This would lead to calculation errors because the system adds the amounts of the individual wage types together to form the amount of the wage type class.

You assign wage types to wage type classes in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Payroll under Deductions ® Limits on Deductions ® Set Up Wage Type Classes and Attach Limits.
