Assigning an Article from the Integrated Article Maintenance
Use
You have the option to assign an article from the integrated article maintenance to an active or a planned article hierarchy.
It is only possible to assign articles at client level, this means that it is not possible to assign articles to distribution chain specific hierarchies. If, for example, you
create a new article, the ID for the article hierarchy is shown in the subscreen "article hierarchy" of the basic data view for article maintenance.
Attach the subscreen "Article Hierarchy" to the basic data view of the article master. In Customizing for master data, assign the program SAPLMATGRP_MGMW2 and the screen 0100 to a free screen sequence. Using transaction SM30 enter the ID of the article hierarchy to which you want to assign new articles into the table MATGRP_CUST.
The hierarchy ID must not be distribution chain specific, because assignments are only possible at client level. If you have not maintained a hierarchy ID in Customizing, both fields (hierarchy ID and hierarchy nodes) will be hidden.
Using the input help you can determine a node of the article hierarchy to which the article should be assigned. The article can only be assigned to the lowest node in an article hierarchy. If necessary, changes to the active article hierarchy are made directly in the planned article hierarchy (if this exists), in the product hierarchy and in the MAP or BW structures. This guarantees consistent updating of changes.
