Scheduling Write Jobs Outside of Archive Administration

Use

To increase automation of data archiving and allow you more control over the write phase of your archiving session, you can schedule write jobs outside of Archive Administration. This allows you to adjust when write jobs run according to other processes in your system environment.

Caution

If you schedule write jobs outside Archive Administration, you or the job scheduler must check the following to ensure archiving is correct and will not be executed multiple times for the same data.

Check whether the write program was already executed or scheduled using the selected variant
Check whether incomplete or interrupted archiving sessions exist

Prerequisites

You have determined the name of the write program for the relevant archiving object using transaction AOBJ.

Procedure

Schedule the job using an external job scheduler or transaction SM36.
