Saving Changed Report Layout Parameters

Use

When processing a report in expert mode, such as when executing a report group, you can make changes to the report layout and save them.

Procedure

When executing a report, choose from the report output screen Settings ® Report layout. A dialog box appears where you can overwrite the layout parameters.

Make any required changes to the report layout.

To save the changed layout parameters, you can choose from the following alternative functions:

To save the changes, choose Settings ® Save settings.

To save the layout changes you made and then block all users from making layout changes in the report, choose Settings ® Save and block settings. The system automatically deselects the Change allwd dur exctn indicator in the Page/Control layout parameters. If you need to remove the block, choose Change report, then Formatting ® Report layout. On the tab page Page/control in the group box Control data, select the indicator Change allwd dur exctn.

Recommendation

SAP recommends that you save your report data as an extract. This allows you to call up your report at any time and the system does not have to reselect the data from the database. You can save the report as an extract using the Report ® Save function. If you have not already saved the report as an extract, the system displays a dialog box, asking you whether you want to do so when you exit the report.
