Area Menus are automatically loaded into a buffer when they are edited, to improve the Area Menu maintenance performance. The buffer is written back to the database server when you save the Area Menu. You can deactivate this buffering in the initial screen of each Area Menu.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the name of the Area Menu. You can choose from the possible entries help or your Favorites.
  2. Choose Goto ® Attributes.

The complete technical data is displayed. The last entry is the buffering status.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

  1. Choose Change setting to change the buffering status.

Note

The buffering may be deactivated for automatically generated Area Menus. If you have Area Menu maintenance performance problems, check whether buffering is active for the current Area Menu. Activate it if necessary.

Refresh buffer

You can refresh the buffer manually to ensure that the Area Menu in the database and the buffered version are consistent. Proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the name of the Area Menu in the initial screen. You can choose from the possible entries help or your Favorites.
  2. Choose Edit ® Refresh buffer.
