Use

In the Best Practice Scenario for Merchandise and Assortment Planning, you can plan at "Store group" level. Store groups show how strong sales are for the stores within each group in a particular merchandise category.

Activities

You can carry out the following activities in Customizing for Merchandise and Assortment Planning, in the sequence stated below:

  1. Define the store group key and the store group description (transaction WXP53).

To do this, use the following path in the SAP Reference IMG Logistics - General ® Merchandise and Assortment Planning ® Basic Settings ® Store Grouping ® Create Store Grouping.

  1. Create assignments:

Retailing ® Info Systems/Planning ® Merchandise and Assortment Planning ® Master Data ® Store Groups ® Create/Change Store Assignments

Example

Stores are to be split into three groups according to the sales for each merchandise category.

from Euro 200,000

Group 3

from Euro 500,000

Store 1 achieves annual sales of approximately Euro 300,000 with merchandise category A. Store 1 can therefore be assigned to group 2.

Assignment of Store Groups to Assortments for Prepack Allocation Planning

Structure linkPrepack Allocation Planning is used to generate allocation tables for prepacks, using assortments. Store groups in Merchandise and Assortment Planning can be used to do this. Store groupings in Merchandise and Assortment Planning can be used in this also.

To use this function, assign store groups to assortments without any restriction of the merchandise category concerned. This can be done

direct merchandise category-independent assignments of stores to store groups (transaction WXP53)
