ALE Audit and ALE Tracing 

The differences between ALE a udit and system-wide IDoc t racing are:

• As a rule, audit reporting is usually more efficient than IDoc tracing because the confirmations from the receiving system are already in the outbound system.
• The audit database is only updated periodically. Although this time interval is variable, newly created IDocs only appear in the audit report after a time delay.
• With system-wide IDoc tracing information is obtained from the receiving system synchronously.
• Unlike ALE audit, you can only use IDoc tracing with logical systems and not with EDI communication partners such as customers and vendors.
