Sorting Report Rows

Use

It is possible to sort report rows of reports that have been output in various ways using the fuctions under Edit ® Sorting.

Depending on where you have placed the cursor in the report, there are two ways in which you can sort the report. You can use the hierarchical sort function to sort the entire row hierarchy on all summation levels. It is also possible to sort the rows just on the summation level of the row you have selected.

Procedure

Defining Sorting

You can tailor a sorting to your requirements by using Edit ® Sorting ® Define....

Hierarchical Sorting Function

Placing the cursor on the heading of a certain report column and choosing Edit ® Sorting ® Sort ascending or Edit ® Sorting ® Sort descending, means that the system sorts the whole row hierarchy on all summation levels.

Sorting Function on a Summation Level

If you place the cursor on a report row within a certain report column and choose Edit ® Sorting ® Sort ascending or Edit ® Sorting ® Sort descending, the system sorts the rows on the summation level of the row you selected.

When you use the sorting function, the system displays a symbol in the heading of the column for which you have sorted report rows.

Undoing Sorting

To restore the original report row order, choose Edit ® Sorting ® Undo sorting.
