Purchasing Organization: Integration (Organizational Units)
Company codes and purchasing organizations
In the company code, you may enter the business transactions of several purchasing organizations for accounting purposes.
You may assign each purchasing organization to the company code in which you enter the relevant business transactions.
Purchasing organizations and plants
A purchasing organization may purchase for several plants. You may assign a plant to several purchasing organizations that purchase for this plant.
A purchasing organization can be used by several plants. If this is the case, you assign several plants to the purchasing organization. A central purchasing organization (purchasing organization that is not assigned to a company code) may purchase for plants from different company codes.
For each plant, you can designate one purchasing organization as the standard purchasing organization plant, in order to make it easier to determine the source.
Purchasing organizations and sales organizations
One purchasing organization may be responsible for purchasing for several sales organizations. However, one sales organization may only be assigned to one purchasing organization.
