Disallowing Posting to the Previous Period 

For One Company Code

  1. In the Material Master menu, choose Other ® Allow posting to previous period.

    2. The initial screen appears.

  2. Enter the company code and choose Enter.

    3. You can now disallow backposting in one of two ways:

    – Either cancel the Allow posting to previous per. indicator. However, this indicator is set again automatically during period closing so as to reallow backposting after each change of period.

    – Or set the Disallow backposting generally indicator. If this indicator is set, backposting continues to be disallowed, even after a change of period.

  3. Save your data.

For More Than One Company Code

  1. Access Customizing for the Material Master and choose Maintain Company Codes for Materials Management.

    2. The overview screen appears.

  2. Set the DBp (disallow backposting after a change of period) indicator for each company code as required.
  3. Save your data.
