Forecast values indicate the future consumption for a material within a certain period.

Forecast values are usually determined by the system in forecasting and updated in the material master record. However, you can enter forecast values manually for the following purposes:

• As a basis for material requirements planning
• To correct the forecast values calculated by the system

• If less is to be produced because of the run-up to the company holidays
• If higher consumption is expected due to an imminent advertising campaign
