The following changes have been made to role
and user management in Release 4.6C:
- Cross-system workplace role
assignment
If the workplace
server is the location of the Central User Management, the individual roles
and their profile are assigned to the user of a collective role in the
component system automatically. The composite role menu is called on the
workplace server. Authorization is checked in the component
systems.
- Read roles from other systems
Roles can be copied
to the workplace server from the component systems by RFC or from earlier
releases (up to Release 3.1H) using a plug-in.
- Bulk generation of derived roles
Roles can be derived
from existing roles. The menu of the original role is copied into the derived
role. You can generate the derived roles in the authorization maintenance of
the original role to copy the authorization data as well.
Organization level
data is only copied the first time that you adjust the authorization data of
the derived roles. If Organization level data is maintained in the derived
role, it is not overwritten at the next adjustment.
- Distributing roles to target
systems
Roles can be
distributed to Release 4.6C target systems.
- Simplified ALE system landscape setup for
Central User Management.
Simple system
landscapes can be setup with the transaction SCUA.
Menus with roles can
be compared and adjusted system-wide with the transaction
ROLE_CMP.
