Purchasing: New Component: MM External Services Management (MM SRV)

Description

MM External Services Management is a program that supports the entire cycle of bid invitation, award of contract and acceptance of services or work performed.

The program offers a service master, in which descriptions of all services/works to be procured can be stored.
A separate set of service specifications is created for each concrete procurement project. When creating such specifications, you do not have to enter the individual services manually. Instead, you simply copy them from the master data. This referencing technique reduces manual input to a minimum, since data has to be entered once only.

Users have the option of either entering precise service descriptions or setting value limits up to which unplanned services can be performed. When the services have been performed, they are entered into the system by means of service entry sheets, in which exact details of quantities and values are listed. Services that have been performed are accepted in a separate process. After this, the entry sheet constitutes the basis for the invoice verification process as it applies to services.

Integration into the SAP System

The External Services Management component is linked to the SAP modules PM Plant Maintenance and PS Project System. This permits service requisitions to be passed on to Purchasing.

External Services Management is completely integrated within MM Purchasing. This means that the service descriptions relating to a planned procurement are entered in the documents "request for quotation (RFQ)", "purchase order (PO)" or "outline agreement".

Invoices relating to services are checked in MM Invoice Verification with reference to the PO and the service entry sheet.
