Creating Collateral 

Procedure

  1. Choose Master data ® Collateral ® Create.
  2. Enter the required Collateral type.
  3. If you do not know the collateral type, you can use the F4 function key (possible entries) to select the collateral type.

    You can set up the collateral types according to your own requirements in Customizing.

  4. The basic data screen appears for the collateral type you have selected (for example, Endowment policy, stock, savings book)
  5. Enter the relevant data for the collateral type. Save your entries.
  6. Via additional screens, you can record maturity data for collateral, as well as special agreements relating to specific partners. You can also branch to partner management:
    1. Partner
    2. The Partner function allows to assign one or more partners (which you have created in partner management) to collateral in different roles (such as beneficiary or insurer).

    3. Special arrangements
    4. You use this function to enter special arrangements which apply to a certain business partner in relation to the collateral type selected.

      When you choose the Special arrangements function, the system first branches to partner management. Once you have selected the corresponding partner or created a new partner, the screen for entering the data relating to the special arrangement appears.

      If a special arrangement has already been entered for the collateral in question, the system branches directly to the overview screen for the arrangement. To define a new arrangement, choose Special agreement ® Create.

      When you exit this function, the system asks you whether you want to change the special arrangement for the business partner. Choose Yes. The system displays an overview of all the special arrangements entered in relation to the collateral in question.

      To return to the basic data screen for filed documents, choose Back.

    5. Maturity data

You can also enter maturity data relating to life insurance policies.
