Configuration Monitoring
Use
With Release 4.6C of the SAP System, the
Computing Center Management System (CCMS) monitoring architecture has been
enhanced to include system configuation monitoring. As a result you can view
important system configuration information, such as the active operation mode,
instance status, SAP license and database type from the monitoring
architecture.
Effects on
System Administration
The System Configuration monitor in the SAP
CCMS Monitor Templates was conceived with the system administrator in mind,
allowing you to monitor the following information from the monitoring
architecture. At a glance, you can see:
- The concurrent users in the SA P
System
This displays the
number of users who are logged on to either a specific client or on to all
clients in the system. The system deletes duplicate users who are logged on to
the same client to ensure that the statistics are accurate.
- The operation mode status, the current
operation mode, whether the system is currently configured and when the next
operation mode switch is scheduled.
- The status of each instance
- The SAP license number and expiration
date
- The SAP System type, Release number and
vendor
- The database name, type, version, host and
number
- The SAP components and support packages that
have been installed
- Detailed client information (name, roll,
currency and so on)
- Detailed application server configuration
(host, operating system, machine type, IP address and so on).
