Set up process data calculation formulas

1. On the first screen, assign a message category to the process data calculation formula.
a) Enter the message category of the process message to be created for the process instruction in the PI sheet.
To make it easier for you to select the message category, the assistant displays the characteristics of the message category you have just assigned on this screen.
b) Choose Next screen.
2. On the second screen, specify the message characteristics and variables to be copied to the process instruction and how they are to be processed.
a) Set the selection indicator for the characteristics of the process message category you want to copy to the process instruction, and thus to the corresponding process message.
b) If you want to add characteristics to the process message that are not predefined for the message category, choose Insert char. and select the characteristic you want to add.
c) If you want to display additional variable values in the PI sheet, choose Insert variable and enter the variable name.
d) Set the Calculat. indicator for the numeric characteristic whose value is to be calculated in the PI sheet.
e) Set the Output indicator for characteristics whose values are to be displayed in the PI sheet.
The indicator is automatically set for variables and the value to be calculated.
f) If the unit of measure is to be displayed after the value to be calculated in the PI sheet, set the UM indicator for this value.
This is only possible if the standard characteristic for the unit of measure is contained in the process instruction.
g) Choose Next screen.
3. On the third screen, define the short texts and the sequence of the output values and the value to be calculated.
a) Specify the sequence of the values using the sort numbers.
b) Enter short texts for the values.
Note:
If you define several consecutive output values and want them displayed in the same line, enter a text for the first output value only.
c) Choose Next screen.
4. On the fourth screen, specify how the message characteristics are to be processed in the PI sheet.
For hidden characteristics and output values:
a) Select the message characteristic.
b) In the Characteristic value group box, specify how the value is to be assigned to the characteristic.
c) If required, enter a variable name for the characteristic value in the Variable definition group box and specify the variable's validity area.
For the value to be calculated:
a) Select the message characteristic.
b) In the Value calculation group box, enter the calculation formula to be used to calculate the characteristic value in the PI sheet.
c) If required, enter a variable name for the characteristic value in the Variable definition group box and specify the variable's validity area.
