General Definition Using Update Groups

It is often necessary that the various business events influence the statistics update. This usually means that certain organizational elements in the application (for example, sales organization, document type, customer group) can contribute to the update.

Since the influential elements differ from application to application, a standardized control element is necessary. This control element is the update group.

In the application, one update group is allocated to one specific business event or group of business event. The type of allocation and the determining organizational elements vary from application to application.

At present, the application can influence the statistics update by means of the update group in the following information systems:

The description of the application-specific settings for update groups can be found in the section "Settings: Sales".
