New Features in
Employee Self-Services
Use
In Release 4.6C, additional functions have been
included in the existing services:
- You can provide a link to a search engine that
employees can use to search for doctors approved by their plan
providers.
- It is now possible to print forms from within
Enrollment. For reference purposes, employees can print enrollment forms for a
valid benefit offer. Once they have enrolled, they can also print their own
confirmation forms.
- Employees can simulate their payslip to see
the effect of different plan elections on their gross pay. This function can
be a useful decision aid for employees during enrollment.
- The name of this service has been changed to
Participation Overview.
- Employees can now print a confirmation form
showing their plan enrollments from the overview.
For both services, it is possible to set
customer-specific hypertext links to sources of additional information
residing either in the company's Intranet or in the Internet. The following
types of links are possible:
- General links available on each screen (for
example, to a list of contacts)
- Specific links providing information about
plans, plan types, or investments
Effects on
System Administration
Before you use the payslip simulation function
you should test whether your system can effectively handle simultaneous
generation of multiple payslips (if, for example, you are a large company with
an open enrollment period). For more information, see the documentation
Set ESS Parameters.
Effects on
Customizing
Depending on which of the new features you want
to use, you need to make the appropriate settings in the Benefits
Implementation Guide in the section
Employee Self-Service.
To make this
function available to employees, you need to make settings in the step
Set ESS Parameters.
- Links to sources of further
information
To provide links you
need to specify a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for each source of
information and assign it to objects such as a plan, or define it as a
generally available link.
