Overview of Configuration Files

The AutoCAD-SAP interface establishes a connection between two systems – the SAP System, and AutoCAD. These systems, in turn, communicate with different programs in your system. For this reason, you will require several configuration files.

The following files are of particular importance for the functions of the AutoCAD-SAP interface. Therefore, if you make any changes to these files, please make sure that you save them.

Cadrfc.ini

This file is used to define default values for dialog RFC functions, and to define the name of the CAD system (DEMO, for example). If the access settings to the SAP System change, you should make changes to this file. Once you have made these changes, save the file.

Sapacad.ini

In this file, you can specify the document type to be used for drawing headers.

Gesprese.cfg

This file is used to customize the user interface of the AutoCAD-SAP interface. Change this file using an editor, or by entering the command "gesprese", or by choosing the menu item "Configure SAP". Then copy this file, and save the copy as "gesprese.cfg".

Genpps.dfb

This file stores all the references established between AutoCAD parts and the material master in the SAP System. You need to make an entry in this file if you create a material master record for an AutoCAD part in the drawing, if you assign a material master record to an AutoCAD part, or if you take an item number and then assign a material master record to an AutoCAD part. It is very difficult to reconstruct the contents of this file. Therefore, save this file frequently at the start (this is when most references are established).
