Working with Capacity Leveling 

Prerequisites

You are in the main screen for capacity leveling.

Procedure

Selecting Capacities (Work Centers and Capacity Categories)

  1. Choose Capacities.
  2. The system displays the Capacities dialog box. It displays all work centers and capacity categories (person or machine) that form the basis for the capacity requirement of the material. The system displays the maximum load for every capacity category. Any overload is highlighted.

  3. Position the cursor on the required capacity category and choose Choose.

You can scroll between the individual capacities using and .

Check Capacity Overload

Choose Overload.

The Capacities with overload dialog box with a list of all periods in which the respective capacity is overloaded appears.

As standard, a capacity is overloaded if the load is bigger or equal to 100%, that is, the same as or larger than the available capacity. You can, however, also set your own user-defined percentage values:

  1. Choose Settings in the dialog box Capacities with overload.
  2. The Settings for overload display dialog box appears.

  3. Enter the required percentage in the Maximum capacity load field and, if necessary, limit the period in which the system should execute an overload check. Choose .

The system carries out the overload check using the changed values.

Displaying Pegged Capacity Requirements in Detail

You can display,

The system displays the orders generating the requirements in the lower section of the screen.

You can display the scheduling data for these orders. To do this, position the cursor on the required planned order and choose Edit ® Scheduling data.

Planning Capacity

In the Planned order screen area, you can change the dates or quantity of the planned order selected. The system plans the order again immediately.
