Planning Result and Planning Situation

Use

The planning result displays the result of the last planning run (as in the MRP list). The planning situation takes all changes in stock, receipts and issues that occur between planning runs into account (as in the stock/requirements list). They are different to the lists mentioned in that you set up a special evaluation layout for the formatting of the data in the planning result and planning situation. This layout defines which receipt and issue elements are displayed at which level of aggregation.

Features

You can work either with the SAP standard layouts or define your own individual layouts. You define evaluation layouts in Customizing for MPS in the IMG activities Define hierarchy elements, Define evaluation profiles and Define layout.

The use of evaluation layouts is not just restricted to MPS, but can be used generally in MRP.

Structure of Evaluations

The evaluations consist of a header and the evaluation matrix.

The hierarchy elements determine the structure of the evaluation. They specify under which heading and in which order the MRP elements are grouped together. This means, for example, that receipts can be subdivided into receipts produced in-house and receipts procured externally. In this example, "Receipts" represents the top level of the hierarchy and "receipts produced in-house" and "receipts procured externally" represent subordinate levels.

The planning data is displayed in a planning matrix: the lines represent the hierarchy and MRP elements and the columns represent the periods of the display. The points of intersection represent the (cumulated) receipts or issues in the corresponding periods.
