Planning with/without Stopping Points

Use

You can display and edit the planning result of all or some of the components and assemblies of the material, before you save the complete planning result. You can edit at every BOM level.

This function is not available, if you call up and change a material’s planning result from the material list. The materials are then passed on directly to the dependent materials and the planning is saved without further stopping points.

Prerequisites

You have completed processing the planning result of the header material.

Procedure

  1. Choose .
  2. The system displays the dialog box Next stopping point. The system displays the next possible stopping point, that means the next assembly or component where the planning run can be stopped.

  3. The following options are available:

The planning result for the selected component now appears.

A list of components for the next BOM level to be planned appears. Select a material. The system displays the dialog box Next stopping point again. Choose Continue.

The planning result for the selected component now appears.

Result

Once the last level has been planned, the result of multi-level planning is automatically saved and the system displays the runtime statistics for the planning run.

From the statistics, you receive information on the scope of planning, exception messages and terminations. You are also informed of how much time was required for the total planning run as well as how long it took to plan each individual material.
