Description
Language Settings
As of Release 3.0, new functionality has been added to the language
settings for characteristics and characteristic values. You can now determine
whether the language settings apply to a characteristic, a value, or both the
characteristic and the value. Up to now, you have made the language settings
via the function Extras -> Change language.
Furthermore, you could use the indicator Display with characteristic
names in the function View -> Display
options. With this function, you were able to hide
language-dependent names for characteristics. As of Release 3.0, you make the
language settings via the following functions:
- Via the function View -> Language from the
value assignment screen of the selection and classification functions
- Via the function Extras -> Change language
from the initial screen and result screen of the selection function.
You can influence the language for displaying characteristics and
characteristic values in the following ways:
1. Specify whether the language-dependent
names or the language-independent names or values are to be shown.
If you select the indicator Language in the presentation
dataset, the language-dependent descriptions are displayed in the language you
select. You must enter a language in this case.
If you select the indicator Neutral in the presentation
dataset, all language-specific descriptions are hidden.
The indicator Neutral and language for displaying the neutral
andlanguage-dependent values is not available in Release 3.0.
2. Specify whether the setting that you
made for presentation is valid for characteristics, characteristic values, or
both characteristics and characteristic values.
a) If you select the
Characteristics button, the settings apply to characteristics.
b) If you select the Value
button, the settings apply to characteristic values.
c) If you select the Char. and
value button, the settings apply to both characteristics and
characteristic values.
Scope
In the function View -> Scope, the following indicators have
been added for Release 3.0:
- The indicator With reference characteristics
With this indicator, you can influence the
display of reference characteristics in the class. If this indicator is set,
the reference characteristics of the class are displayed. If this indicator is
not set, you can only display the reference characteristics during
characteristic value assignment via the pushbutton Hidden
characteristics.
- The indicator With excluded characteristics
If this indicator is set, excluded
characteristics or characteristic values are also displayed. Characteristics
and values can be excluded on the basis of object dependencies.
