Selection: New/changed functions
Description
Engineering change management
As per Release 3.0, object search is subject to engineering change
management. The representation of the characteristics and of the their values
and allocations depends on the validity date which you enter on the initial
screen.
Search result
To reduce the system reponse time for object search, you should use the
following functions:
- You can use the indicator Objects with characteristics but no
values of the function View -> Scope to
define whether the search result is to include objects whose characteristics
have no values assigned to them. If you remove the indicator, the search
result shows only those objects whose values meet the search criteria you
entered. This reduces the system reponse time.
- At regular intervals, you should reproduce the valuation statistics for
classes with a larger number of objects allocated to them. To do this,
from the initial screen of classification, choose the function
Environment -> Reorganization -> Create
statistics. The system uses the valuation statistics as a
criterion wird als Entscheidungshilfe for accessing the database. The
characteristics are sorted by the number of objects with identical
characteristic values. Since you lichst wenig Zuordnungen mit identischem Wert
auffrischen.
As of Release 3.0, you have a number of new options for displaying the
search result:
- On the search result screen, you can now restrict the search result
further. To do this, place the cursor on the description of the characteristic
and choose the function Extras -> Nachselektion.
Enter the value that you want the system to search for.
- In the search result, you can search for a particular character string. To
do this, choose the function Edit -> Find, then
specify whether you want to search for an object, an object description, a
characteristic value, an object type, or a status.
Before you can search for a characteristic value, you must select the
characteristic description.
The object that contains the character string is displayed in the first line
and highlighted.
- You can now define that the objects in the search result are displayed
together with their object type. This is useful for classes that you can use
to classify objects of various object types. For example, materials have the
object type MAT. To activate the indicator, use the function View
-> Display options... .
Filter reports
You can define your own filter reports for restricting object search
according to your own criteria. As of Release 3.0, you have to change these
filter reports according to the sample report RMCLSFIL.
