Planning 'personnel' is an area that has very special requirements which are not encountered whe planning other resources such as materials, machines or transport. Workforce planning poses a whole series of unique problems for the planner, whether it be for customer order processing or production planning, or for personnel intensive areas such as aviation, transport and hospitals. Solving these problems without the right DP support can be a very time-consuming activity.
This application provides solutions to these problems in the area of "Human Resources Management". The same application is available to the SAP Logistics applications, specially integrated into these processes and with a specially adapted user interface. It is important to note that you can implement all versions of Workforce Planning and Capacity Planning together, with easy access to the results of interfacing versions. Data entry and scheduling of 'person' orders are functions of 'order-related' workforce planning in HR management. The application supports optimum assignment of persons based on the required and existing qualifications, on the availability of the persons. In addition, the planning is linked to a graphical planning board (Gantt chart) and gives you an exact overview of the day-to-day pool of orders and of the individual work load of employees, employee groups and work centers.
