Employee
Self-Service (ESS) for Asia Pacific
Use
The SAP Employee Self-Service (ESS) solution
for Asia Pacific lets employees in your company retrieve and update data using
your corporate intranet and internet.
As of Release 4.6C, eight standard ESS services
enable the employees in your enterprise to ensure that the information about
themselves are correct while simultaneously reducing the number of
time-consuming and expensive activities performed by the Human Resources
Department.
In addition to these eight standard services,
we provide additional ESS services for specific countries.
Standard ESS
Services
Employees can create, display, change, or
delete the following personal details in your company's intranet:
- Personal data (infotype 0002)
- Addresses (infotype 0006)
- Emergency address (infotype 0006)
- Bank details (infotype 0009)

their own remuneration statements)
These eight ESS services are valid for Hong
Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and
Thailand.
Country-Specific ESS Services
In addition to the standard services, we
provide the following country-specific ESS services:
- Emergency contact - Employees can create,
change, display and delete the name and details of the person who is to be
contacted in the event of an emergency, for example an accident involving the
employee. This service corresponds to the Family/Related person
infotype (0021)
The Emergency
contact service is available for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand,
Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

change, display and delete their alternative names in their company's

Names service is available for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore,

print their own tax forms from their company's intranet. This service is

The details entered

in the system. The External Payments service is available for New

- Tax Thailand - The Tax for Thailand service
enables the employees in your enterprise to create, display and change their
own tax details. These tax details include the tax identification number and
details of other allowances that are required to calculate tax for your
employees, such as spouse allowance, child allowance and education allowance.
Other details include life insurance premium, mortgage and charity amount. For
example, when hiring an employee, the life insurance premium details may not
be available for an employee. This employee may, during the course of the tax
year, invest in a life insurance policy and can update the premium details
using this ESS service.
The details entered
or changed by the employees are effective only after the Human Resources
Department approves the changes. This ensures that validated data is available
in the system. This service corresponds to the Tax TH infotype
