Data Transfer Workbench Storage Bins

Step 1: Identify relevant errors

In this section you determine the fields necessary for data transfer.

Actions

1. Compare your old data with the data fields of the SAP system.
2. Define which fields need to be transferred from the old data using the batch input method.
3. For those fields that cannot be supplied with data from the old data set up rules on how to fill them with data for the SAP System.
4. Decide on whether you want to transfer the old data automatically or manually.
5. The program RLPLAT00 (Dataset/Struktur RLPLA) is provided for the initial entry of inventory data.
Check whether this conversion program can be used in your company. Here you should refer also to the respective program documentation.

Step 2: Process transfer structure

In this workstep you can import sequential transfer files that have been created and also check them. If necessary, you can change them manually.

The imported or changed dataset can be adopted later into the SAP System using the respective data transfer programs.

Requirements

To display and test datasets, these must first be made available in the sturcture RLPLA (master data - storage bins).

Activities

Check or test the transfer files.

Step 3: Execute data transfer.

In this workstep you execute the data transfer for the storage bins.

If you want to copy the master data for the storage bin, you only need to create one dataset with the structure RLPLA. For the data transfer, start with the report RLPLAT00. The data transfer workbench makes this program available to the user.

Requirements

The file described above is available as an input file.

Activities

Execute the data transfer for the storage bins.
