Changing User Names in the Proposal Pool 

Use

If a translator's user name changes for some reason, you can use the Change PP user name function in Proposal Pool Administration. This function ensures that all proposals created by the translator under the old user name now bear the new user name in Text details in the proposal pool.

Prerequisites

You first need to have changed the translator's user name in transaction SLWA under Translators. For more information, see Translator Setup.

Procedure

  1. Call up transaction STMA and choose the Source language and Target language of the proposal pool in which the translator in question has been working.
  2. Choose Organization ® Users.
  3. Under Mode, choose Change PP user name.
  4. Under Change PP user name, enter the old user name of the translator in the Old user name field, and enter the new user name of the translator in the New user name field.
  5. Enter a comment for this background job.
  6. Choose Check to check the consistency of your entries.

    7. You can schedule the run if the message No inconsistencies were found appears.

  7. Choose Schedule.

    8. The system displays the dialog box Start Time that offers you further selection options.

  8. Choose either Immediate or schedule the job to run at night by choosing Date/Time.

    9. You can also schedule the run to start after a particular job or event, by choosing After job or After event.

    At operation mode refers to daytime or nighttime operation.

  9. Save your entries.

    10. The system displays a dialog box in which you can enter the name of the printer for the output of the log.

  10. Enter a printer name in the Output device field and choose Continue.

    11. The system displays a dialog box in which you can enter a background server on which you want the job to run.

  11. Select a background server and choose Choose.

The system asks you if you want to schedule the job. Choose Yes.

Result

The system runs a job to change the Last changed by field in the Text details function in the proposal pool. After the run, this field will contain <New user name> for all proposals which where last changed by <Old user name>.

You can check the status of this job by choosing Run administration.

When the job has finished the system will output a log to the output device you selected. This log tells you the number of entries in the proposal pool for which the content of the Last changed by field has been changed.
