Views have replaced tables in release 3.0A. These are maintained using transaction SM30.
Views are used in the Implementation Guide instead of the table maintenance screens used in previous releases.
Since view maintenance is connected to the transport system, customizing of PA is more user-friendly. How to connect to the transport system is described in the related TRSP30A>Release note.
When installing PA, activate new view interfaces from the Implementation Guide.
Call up the old transaction SM31 and enter a table name. Select the 'Customizing' function to display a list of views that can be used to edit the table or parts of it.
To edit new views, you require the same authorizations as for the related tables in the standard system. If you have used different authorization groups (table TDDAT), you must assign the relevant ones to these views ( Table authorizations) and set up authorizations for view processing (the authorization object table maintenance ) is relevant here).
