SAP documentation developers have introduced a series of enhancements for
Release 3.0 that had already been implemented to some extent in Release 2.2.
The main feature of this, is the separating of documentation into information
for the end user on the one hand and customizing information on the other.
This splitting of documentation into target groups is reflected in the
documentation types Winhelp (aimed at end users) and Implementation Guides
(IMG).
For documentation within the Human Resources area this has resulted in a
gradual replacement of the existing HR documentation system, RPDSYS00. For
Release 3.0, RPDSYS00 is being replaced by Winhelp documentation and
Implementation Guides. Technical documentation (on functions, operations and
features etc.) constitutes an exception to this and will remain in RPDSYS00
for the time being and converted for a later release.
Customer-specific documentation from Release 3.0
It is still possible for you to maintain your own documentation in RPDSYS00.
However, for new documentation, Basis recommends that you use the SAP
Hypertext System (Transaction SO70).
