Enhancements to the report list in Release 3.0A

Description

Release 3.0A not only contains new features in the structure of the Information System. The report display itself and the functions connected with it have been enhanced. These enhancements include the following.

1. Different currencies in a report
You can display different database currencies in a report in account-based Profitability Analysis. For more information, see Account-based Profitability Analysis .
2. Hiding elements of the report
You can show or hide the line containing the report name and the time when you executed the report. You can also show or hide the cover page which SAP has pre-defined for the printout.
3. Two lines for column headers in drill-down reports
If you defined two-line column headers in your form, you can display these in the report.
4. Scalable menus
Here an attempt was made to apply the experiences gained with the drill-down function to divide the functions into logical groups. The drill-down functions are divided into three groups, so that different user groups can use one of the pre-defined function levels to suit their information needs and duties. Especially for users with little epxerience with PC/host applications, you can reduce the functionality so that they can learn to work with the drill-down functions within a short period of time.
a) Level 1 contains the basic drill-down functions, the link with existing comments and documents, and the link with the Mail system. With these functions you can navigate within the given characteristic hierarchy (of a pre-defined report). You can also use the functions of the detail list to analyze larger quantities of data.
b) Level 2 contains the rest of the navigation functions in drill-down reporting, the link to the report portfolio, Microsoft Excel, and downloading, graphic functions and functions for changing the display (characteristic values, number formats and currencues), and all the functions for hierarchies. You can also display exceptions.
c) "All functions" includes the print options, saving reports, defining exceptions, and maintaining reports directly from the drill-down list.
These levels are conceived for the following user groups:
Level 1 is for users who - in addition to the report portfolio - occasionally use certain drill-down reports for detailed analysis but do not need all of the navigation functions. This group might include division managers.
Level 2 is for users who need the full drill-down functionality and the link with Microsoft Excel, the report portfolio and more complex graphic functions. This level is suited for controllers.
The full functionality is for user who - in addition to the functions of level 2 - need to maintain reports and define printing options.
You can assign users to these levels using the parameter RLV in their user master record.

RLV 1 - Level 1

RLV 2 - Level 2

RLV 0 - All functions

If the parameter RLV is either not set or defined with another value, the system uses a default value. You can change the level within a report.
The system checks the user's authorization before it switches to a different level. For more information, see Authorizations.
1. Printing with MS WinWord

From drill-down reporting, you can process and print the drill-down, detail list or graphic in Winword on a PC (if this is installed and on the PC and the relevant functions have been carried out in customizing). For more information on this see Printing in Winword.

1. Cumulative display in report list

Using this function, you can generate special graphics which display the values in summarized form.

1. Saving graphic settings
2. Displaying long texts in the lead column

For each characteristic whose text table contains a long text (> 20 characters), this text can be displayed in the lead column.

1. Dynamic push button texts

Certain push button texts will be replaced dynamically by appropriate texts, e.g. First char. value will be replaced by First customer and so on.
