Define destination-specific target field

In this processing step, you define the fields or interface parameters of the message destinations that you want to use as target fields for message characteristics.

Whether you can or have to define target fields for a destination, depends on the destination type:

external function: no target fields

SAPoffice user: no target fields

ABAP/4 table: target fields required because otherwise, no message data can be transferred

R/3 function module: Whether target fields are required depends on the definition of the function module.

In the message category, message characteristics are assigned to the destination-specific target fields.

Standard Settings

In the standard R/3 System, destination-specific target fields are defined for the message destinations predefined by SAP.

Activities

1. Choose the message destination for which you want to define target fields, and go to the screen Destin-spec. target fields.

2. To define target fields, choose New entries.

3. Enter the names of the table fields or the names of the fields defined in the function module you want to use as target fields for message characteristics.

4. Save the settings.
