Standard (Library) Network: Changes in Release
3.0
Description
In Release 3.0, the following changes were made to the standard
network:
- "Library network" was renamed "standard network" in the English version of
the Project System to be consistent in terminology with other new standard
structures available in Release 3.0.
- Standard WBS elements can be assigned to standard networks:
- in the standard network header. The standard WBS element is copied into
all activities when you create a standard network.
- for activities via the menu Goto WBS assign. ->
Activity
- for activity elements via the menu Activity -> WBS assign.
-> Element
- You can use the screen WBS elements for activities / Activity
elements both for the easy entry of activities and activity
elements and for assigning standard WBS elements to them.
- For services, you can maintain data in externally processed
activities.
A Service indicator is now
available in the control key to allow you to do this. Service packages can
only be planned for activities where the service indicator is set in the
control key.
- Material allocation has changed. Standard networks are now linked to
standard bills of material (BOMs). You can use this functionality to allocate
components to activities without referencing a BOM.
If no standard BOM exists for the standard
network, you can create a standard BOM when making a component
allocation.
- You can now breakdown phantom assemblies into their component parts in
standard networks.
If a BOM assembly is a phantom assembly, the
system automatically breaks it down further.
- Execution factor for internally and externally processed activities and
activity elements.
You specify the number of times the activity or
activity element should be carried out. The execution factor refers to the
work, the activity duration, the activity quantity and the material quantity.
If you specify an execution factor for an activity, it applies to the activity
elements of that activity as well.
If you enter an execution factor in a standard
network, it serves as a default value and will be copied into a network when
you create one using the standard network. The calculation of quantities,
durations andwork is only performed for the network.
You no longer access loop analysis from the same
menu, but now only in the network graphic, via the menu options
Edit -> Functions.
Changes and new functions in the menus
The standard network menu was revised and restructured.
All the menu options under the path Additional functions - >
Details were moved out from menu Additional
functions and introduced as a separate menu option

All functions were moved under the menu option

profile and select other overview versions.
- Via Schedule, you can schedule the standard
network.
Menu Activity

milestones for the activity.
Menu Details
- The following functions under Activity/Element
are new:
- With Service, you can edit existing service

- Via Milestone, you can view basic data,
functions and administrative data for individual milestones from the milestone
overview.
- Via PRT, if the PRT is a document, you can
display its original.
Menu Extras
- Via Object dependency, you can enter an object
dependency for individual activities to be used in configuration of the sales
order when executing the project.
Change system parameters in customizing
1. If necessary, maintain a new control key
for services in the standard network or change existing control keys.
2. Assign the control key to the standard
network profile.
