message destination in your plant.
The R/3 System supports the following types of
message destinations:
- R/3 function module (defined by SAP or
user)
- User-defined ABAP/4 table
Requirements
Depending on the destination type, you first
need to make the following settings:
Standard
Settings
The standard system contains message
destinations of type R/3 function module
for:
- The integration to PP, MM, and QM
- The integration to higher-level systems
(linking of external requirements)
- Status management of orders and control
recipes
- Sending messages to destinations specified in
the message itself
- Logging process messages in the process
message record for process data documentation and process message
evaluation
The names of these destinations start with
PI.
Activities
To create a message destination, proceed as
follows:
1. Choose New entries, and specify a
key and a description for the destination.
Please note that the
name range PI* is reserved for SAP.
2. Specify the destination type.
3. Enter the destination address.
Depending on the
destination type, the address is:
- The name of the R/3 function
module

- The name of the ABAP/4 table
4. For destinations of type SAPoffice
user specify, whether every message is to be processed
individually.

Further
Notes
Messages that have been sent to user-defined
