Reposting Communication Documents

If the system does not automatically create decentralized deliveries from the communication documents it receives (communication document has the status "Open" in the global overview) or if communication documents received contain inconsistencies (communication document has the status "Incorrect" in the global overview), you can repost these communication documents after you have processed them manually.

You will find notes on errors in specific communication documents in the selective overview.

You can use various processing modes for reposting communication documents:

A - foreground

You branch to the delivery document and process it manually.

E - only in the foreground when errors occur

You only branch to manual processing when an error occurs. If no error occurs, reposting is carried out automatically without branching to the document.

N - in the background even if errors occur

Reposting is carried out automatically without branching to the document regardless of whether errors occur or not. You cannot carry out manual processing.

You can repost communication documents in two ways:

From the selective overview
On request

Reposting from the Selective Overview

To repost a communication document from the Communication Documents: Selective Overview screen, proceed as follows:

Position the cursor on the document and then choose Edit ® Repost comm.doc.

The Generate Decentral Deliveries from Communication Documents screen appears.

Enter the indicator for the processing mode you want to use. The number of the communication record is proposed automatically.

Choose Program ® Execute.

Depending on the processing mode you selected, reposting either occurs automatically or can be influenced manually.

In the case of manual processing, you see the Create Delivery screen. The system provides default values for each field.

Select ENTER .

You see the screen where you can create or edit the delivery.

When you create the delivery, a pop-up window appears where you can check and, if necessary, change the address data for the ship-to party that has been copied.

The dialog box does not appear if you have made the appropriate settings in Customizing regarding the processing of one-time customers. If this is the case, a customer master record for the ship-to party must already exist in the decentralized R/3 System.

Reposting on Request

To repost a communication document on request, proceed as follows:

In the SAP menu, select Logistics ® Logistics Execution® Internal Whse Processes ® R/2-R/3 Link.

You see the screen R/2-R/3 Link.

Choose Communication ® Shipping ® Repost commun.doc.

You see the screen where you create decentralized deliveries from communication records.

Enter the number of the communication record you want to process and select the processing mode that you want to use.

Follow steps 3 and 4 for the reposting of documents from the selective overview.

Restrictions in Delivery Processing

You must observe the following restrictions regarding the reposting of decentralized deliveries:

You cannot delete delivery items received from the central sales and distribution system.
You can only change the plant, storage locations, and batches if they were not proposed from the central sales and distribution system.
You can only check batches if they are created manually in the R/3 System.
